Position Profile: Position: Case Management OfficerBase: DernaGender: AnyContract duration: 2 monthsContract Type: Full-timeStarting date: ASAPClosing date: 6.Feb.2024 Mission The Case Management Officer will be responsible for the identification, assessment of protection issues, development and implementation of case plans including full documentation of cases, individual psychosocial care, quality referral (to relevant services) and follow-up of vulnerable and at-risk children and families as part of ACTED’s child protection response in Derna. The Case Management Officer will support children and their families through the provision of psychosocial support and provide direct support to children and their families from identification to case closure, based on principles of the best interest of the child. The Case Management Officer will conduct Best Interest Assessment when required. They will also be working in collaboration with institutional and non-governmental stakeholders present and working already in Derna to identify safe and sustainable solutions to risks those children and their families are facing. OBJECTIVES • To support and ensure that standard tools and procedures are in place and adhered to • To plan and ensure the strategic building of the child protection and education sectors and the implementation of quality programs in the field/on the ground. To document and disseminate standard methodologies across Education and Child Protection programs Duties and Responsibilities 1. Provision of Psychosocial support and case management · Identify individual cases, assess protection risks and formulate case plans. · Document all cases using agreed upon forms and databases, ensuring confidentiality of the data collected. · Ensure that all services and action points listed in the case plan are carried out within agreed time frames. Ensure that progress is regularly reviewed. · Ensure regular follow up and support to children and families through home visits, provision of psychosocial support, referrals, and access to services. · Conduct BIA/BID when required · Adhere to standard documentation processes and follow best practice guidelines. · Establish trusting relationships with children and families/caregivers. · Participating in training, team meetings and case conferences as requested by the Protection/Education Project Manager, the Case Management Team. 2. Referral with service providers, external partners and child protection community groups Coordinate with other organizations/agencies and make referrals to specialized services.Establish continuing rapport/trust building and interaction with the community and the social environment of vulnerable children for their protection, care, and developmentConducting regular visits to schools to work with teachers and facilitators on the identification and referral of at risk-children 3. Reporting Provide weekly reports to the Project Officer.Keep case files, records, and documentation up to date, secure and confidential.Prepare BIA/BID reports with clear and detailed information 4. Compliance · Ensure the compliance with ACTED policies and protocols of confidentiality, non-discrimination, consent, respect and safety. · Ensure that beneficiaries are duly informed on the Complaint Mechanism and can give their feedbacks on ACTED case management activities KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Number of cases/inquiries identified and provided with assistance in accordance with case management standards and guidelines.Number of cases/inquiries successfully referred to protection/health actors for assistance and cash team for emergency cash assistance. Within the ACTED Protection Department, all staff are expected to support the well-being and safety at all times while performing their regular duties. All staff are bound by the ACTED Global Code of Conduct and the ACTED Child Protection Global Policy.. TECHNICAL SKILLS Bachelor degree required. Education background and teaching experienceAt least 1 years of field experience in humanitarian work.
