1. Supplier Sourcing & Selection Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers/vendors for industrial materials (e.g., metals, plastics, machinery parts, MRO supplies). Conduct supplier audits (quality, capacity, compliance). Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms (MOQs, lead times, payment terms). 2. Cost Optimization & Procurement Analyze market trends and pricing to secure cost-effective deals. Implement cost-saving strategies (bulk purchasing, alternative sourcing). Manage RFQs (Request for Quotations) and competitive bidding processes. 3. Supply Chain Coordination Work with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials. Monitor supplier performance (OTIF – On Time In Full) and address delays. Mitigate supply chain risks (e.g., shortages, geopolitical factors). 4. Quality & Compliance Ensure suppliers meet industry standards (ISO, ASTM, OSHA). Resolve quality issues with defective or non-compliant materials. Maintain documentation for traceability and audits. 5. Stakeholder Collaboration Liaise with engineering, production, and inventory teams to align sourcing with demand. Report to procurement/manufacturing managers on supplier performance. Skills & Qualifications Technical Knowledge: Understanding of industrial materials (e.g., steel grades, coatings, machining processes). Negotiation & Analytics: Strong cost analysis and vendor negotiation skills.
