Barista – Detailed Job Responsibilities 1. Coffee Preparation Expertly prepare a variety of coffee beverages including: Espresso-based drinks (Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte, Flat White, Americano) Brewed coffee (French press, Pour-over, Chemex) Cold beverages (Iced Latte, Cold Brew, Frappes) Ensure consistent taste, presentation, and quality in every cup 2. Creative Beverage Development Develop and recommend new custom drinks and seasonal specials Stay updated with global coffee trends and implement innovative ideas 3. Equipment Handling & Maintenance Operate, clean, and maintain all coffee-related machinery: Espresso machine Grinders Steam wands Blenders and brewing tools Perform daily checks and calibration of equipment to maintain optimal performance Report issues with equipment promptly to management 4. Customer Service Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner Take accurate orders and handle special requests with attention to detail Manage customer feedback positively and handle complaints efficiently Create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits 5. Stock and Inventory Monitor and manage stock of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies Notify management when inventory is low Ensure proper storage of ingredients and adherence to food safety standards 6. Cleanliness & Hygiene Keep the barista station clean, organized, and safe at all times Adhere to local food safety and hygiene regulations Ensure timely cleaning of countertops, equipment, and customer areas 7. Team Collaboration Work efficiently with the kitchen and service team to ensure smooth daily operations Participate in staff meetings and contribute ideas for service improvement Help train junior staff or new hires if required 8. Café Operations Support Assist in opening and closing duties (e.g., setting up the bar, cleaning) Support during peak hours to ensure fast service Maintain daily logs for equipment maintenance or special customer requests
