Freight & Logistics Officer – Job Description Job Summary: The Freight & Logistics officer / manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the ocean , land and air freight and related issues including the custom clearance and freight procedures . This role ensures efficient freight management, timely deliveries, compliance with shipping regulations, and cost optimization. Responsibility: Maintain strong relationships with shipping partners and suppliers. Resolve shipping issues, delays, and damages efficiently. Negotiate freight rates with carriers and suppliers. Handle shipping paperwork, customs declarations, and regulatory compliance. Optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Ensure proper documentation for import/export operations. Ensure all freight activities adhere to safety and legal standards. Reporting & Analysis: Monitor logistics KPIs (cost, delivery times, inventory levels). Prepare reports on freight costs, efficiency, and performance. Skills: Strong knowledge of freight operations, shipping regulations, and customs procedures. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain or any related field. Experience handling international shipping and customs clearance. Familiarity with Incoterms and trade compliance. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
