The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure high standards of food quality, customer service, cleanliness, and profitability. The manager will lead and manage staff, monitor inventory levels, and ensure that the restaurant meets all health, safety, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be organized, customer-oriented, and have strong leadership skills. Key Responsibilities: 1. Operational Management: • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service. • Maintain high standards of food quality, service, and cleanliness. • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and local regulations. • Monitor and manage the restaurant’s budget, including costs, revenue, and profit margins. • Oversee inventory management, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and orders are placed in a timely manner. 2. Staff Management: • Recruit, train, and supervise restaurant staff, including chefs, waitstaff, and other personnel. • Schedule shifts, manage attendance, and ensure proper staffing levels during peak hours. • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address staff concerns or disciplinary issues. • Foster a positive working environment and promote teamwork among staff. 3. Customer Service: • Ensure excellent customer service and resolve any customer complaints or issues in a professional manner. • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance customer satisfaction. • Create a welcoming atmosphere for guests and ensure that their dining experience meets or exceeds expectations. 4. Financial Management: • Monitor daily financial performance, including sales reports, costs, and profitability. • Implement strategies to increase revenue, manage expenses, and improve overall profitability. • Manage cash flow, deposits, and handle petty cash for day-to-day expenses. • Prepare regular financial reports and provide updates to the restaurant owner or management. 5. Marketing and Promotions: • Assist in planning and executing marketing strategies to promote the restaurant, including special events, promotions, and partnerships. • Monitor local competition and market trends to identify opportunities for business growth. • Manage the restaurant’s social media presence and customer engagement online. 6. Supplier and Vendor Relations: • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. • Negotiate contracts, monitor supply quality, and ensure timely deliveries. 7. Health and Safety Compliance: • Ensure that the restaurant adheres to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations. • Train staff on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper food handling practices. • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain safety standards. Qualifications and Skills: • Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, Hospitality Manager, or similar role. • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, food safety, and customer service. • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Financial management skills with the ability to analyze budgets, control costs, and maximize revenue. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle stress, and multi-task effectively. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Familiarity with POS systems and other restaurant management software. • Knowledge of local regulations, labor laws, and health codes in Oman. • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred but not required).
